Forche Tours and Travel under the banner "Africa Yours To Save" offers a community volunteer programme in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe an adventure to understand Africa's finest tranquillity spiced with leisure activities for relaxation while out of home yet educating you of the dire needs of the victims of HIV/ AIDS scourge in this beautiful continent, Africa.
Programme Background
The programme`s aim is to make all participate in lessening the effect of HIV/AIDS pandemic, through the introduction of an interesting project in Africa, Zimbabwe. The project has targeted to assist orphanages that are not funded or donor driven and schools in rural areas.
There has been a discovery that three quarters of children in rural schools are orphans, through a research in schools, guardians are grandmothers, and parents died of HIV/AIDS pandemic. In most orphanages in Zimbabwe it is the same pandemic that has caused orphaned children, and in addition some children are abandoned and adopted in the orphanage. With this programme we are attracting interested individuals all over the world to be involved in aiding these children through this Community
Volunteer Programme. The volunteer will work at the orphanage and school as outlined in the pre-departure information.(link to pre- departure information)
Volunteer's Impact
When one volunteers with us part of the money is used to assist in the schools and orphanage where they have been volunteering in, this is why we say "Africa is yours to save". Your money will not just go to the co-ordinating company. The money at the orphanage will be used for food, clothes and school fees for the children, while in school our main focus will be as per our ability to assist in development and fund the less privileged children with school fees. A percentage of your volunteer fee is a donation.
